Bolanle Oyesile- MA

Mental Health Practitioner ( Pre-Licence LPCC)

Ever since my first exposure to psychology, I have been fascinated and intrigued by the nature of the human mind and the mechanism behind human behavior; a desire that was strongly motivated by an urge to help those in need. This interest ushered my passion to pursue advanced degrees in the field of psychology with the sole aim of helping individuals develop the coping and adaptive skills that they require to manage their mental health difficulties. Over the course of my career, I have had the opportunity of working with at risk individuals with a history of homelessness, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, familial discord, and relationship issues.

Specialty:

In addition, I have experience working with children and adolescents who have a background of being involved in the child welfare system. My ultimate goal working with young adults is to better prepare them for transitioning into adulthood and become more self-sufficient through the implementation of evidenced based practices such as motivational interviewing and person centered therapy. Due to each individual’s unique characteristics and distinctiveness, I believe therapy should be personalized and tailored to suit each clients’ specific needs irrespective of similar experiences. The beauty of my approach to therapy is that not only do I provide support to my clients in times of crisis, but I also believe in empowering their families with hope and healing.

Through the diverse array of individuals I have been honored to work with, these interactions have humbled me to embrace my vulnerability and opened my eyes to recognize the shared burden our existence, that we are finite beings; and allowing that understanding anchor my humility, gentleness, and kindness toward fellow human beings. I am enthusiastic to embark on a journey of healing and self-actualization with you. I am convinced that everyone encounters difficulties in life and each individual is a product of his or her own unique experiences. Given the right tools, skills, and support, everyone has the opportunity and potential to thrive.
