Carter Hunt (Pre-Licence LPCC)
I am a practitioner excited to work with new individuals! I typically work with adults but have experience working with children (10 years+) and their families. I am a neurodivergent provider who looks to empower individuals. I am passionate about helping individuals of all ages build up their “personal toolbox of skills" and build healthy happy lives. I have experience working with individuals who have Autism, ADHD, Trauma, PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. I have also worked with many individuals who are part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I have experience helping individuals navigate family separation/estrangement grief, sensory sensitivity, repairing attachment styles, negative internal narratives, re-parenting, communication issues, boundaries, decreasing self-harm, setting achievable goals/expectations, and significant identify or health-related life events (such as late/recent diagnosis of a disability or disabling/degenerative diagnosis). Clients who work with me typically are seeking to replace negative patterns with healthier, more functional ones, enhance emotional regulation, resolve internal conflict, heal from the impact of complex past traumas, and/or struggle with “feeling their feelings” or being “too self-aware” or self-judging. I typically seek to establish the client's goals and re-evaluate them every three to six months. I aim to teach effective problem-solving and self-soothing skills to help clients independently reach goals and feel prepared to solve future problems. I utilize an eclectic approach combining many modalities of therapy to match the individual's needs, challenges, and strengths. I offer solutions-focused therapy utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, Mindfulness practices, Somatic exercises, and trauma-focused therapy techniques to help clients work through personal and social conflicts. I believe that bad things happen to good people without the skills to withstand bad events and that they deserve help and support to rebuild, repair, and heal. I hope to be a supporter on your journey of rebuilding, repairing, or healing.
